Dix Jr. and African American pastors from Fort Wayne to discuss racism and racial tensions in America and what we can do about it. Surveying the Southern Border Image Most of the drugs that come into the United States come across the southern border at some point. Smugglers have long used our southern border to traffic drugs as well as smuggle victims of human trafficking into the United States. The purpose of the wall is to force smugglers to use ports of entry to enter into our country where our border agents can more easily detect human trafficking and confiscate drugs that would have been on the streets of our cities. I’ve inspected it, so I can say in no uncertain terms: it would be extremely difficult to pass through or climb over President Trump’s wall. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Image While there is so much more work to do to combat drug cartels at the border and at home, thank God for what the DEA does to keep drugs off of our streets. Victims of Open Borders Image There are many victims of open borders. Like the men, women and children who are smuggled by cartels to sex trafficking rings or perform forced labor. Like those struggling with addiction in northeast Indiana and across this country who are addicted to drugs smuggled across our border. Like the ranchers and farmers along the border who have had their property damaged and lives threatened by violent criminals. The border wall is helping, but we need to complete it. We also need more border patrol officers and technology at the border to help our law enforcement officials do their jobs. I appreciate the work of all the law enforcement officials for what they do for our country and community in northeast Indiana. They deserve our thanks and praise! Defending America’s Culture and Heritage Image This week, I was at the Emancipation Memorial to talk about my bill, the Defending America’s Culture and Heritage Act. This legislation would amend the 2003 Veterans’ Memorial Act, which criminalized the deliberate destruction of memorials honoring veterans, to extend the law’s protections to monuments honoring presidents and Founding Fathers. The mob has its sights set on tearing down this statue of Lincoln. It would be a travesty if it happened. That’s why President Trump and I are working to stop them. Go to my Instagram to learn more! Dear Friend,

It’s easy to get caught up in the sensational news stories of the day, so I wanted to take a moment to share a few photos from the month of June. For an inside look at my work as your representative, please make sure to follow me on Instagram @RepJimBanks.

Meeting with Fort Wayne Pastors

It was a pleasure joining Pastor Raymond C. Dix Jr. and African American pastors from Fort Wayne to discuss racism and racial tensions in America and what we can do about it.

Surveying the Southern Border

Most of the drugs that come into the United States come across the southern border at some point.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

While there is so much more work to do to combat drug cartels at the border and at home, thank God for what the DEA does to keep drugs off of our streets.

Like those struggling with addiction in northeast Indiana and across this country who are addicted to drugs smuggled across our border. Like the ranchers and farmers along the border who have had their property damaged and lives threatened by violent criminals.

Defending America’s Culture and Heritage

This week, I was at the Emancipation Memorial to talk about my bill, the Defending America’s Culture and Heritage Act.
